It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

The most terrifying moment for me in any LotR film
It only occurred to me recently what ‘good sport’ might actually entail and now the mere idea turns the stomach out of me.
Especially when you see Merry and Pippin’s wee faces.
Pippin’s nervous because he knows it can’t be anything good, but the look on Merry’s face just seems like he’s afraid to give away that he knows exactly what he means. It also looks a little bit like he’s whispering ‘no’ under his breath but that might just be me staring at gifs for too long…Made even worse by the fact that Saruman asked that the Hobbits are brought to him alive and “unspoiled”
…unspoiled
This is greatly distressing.
Wh… why would anyone point this out…?

Hobbits really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month, and yet after a hundred years they can still surprise you.
CAN WE TAKE A MOMENT AND IMAGINE WHAT AN AWESOME DAD BOROMIR WOULD HAVE MADE
WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???
OUCH.
